Positioned as a new amalgam of art, craft, and technology, the Daniel M. Soref Innovation Hub encompasses approximately 2,200 square feet. Formerly individual and drab classrooms, adjacent Engineering and Ideation Rooms needed to foster a sense of community as the social component was critical to the new learning approach. Each wall features functional material; grid-wall storage, tackable/acoustical fabric panels, or writable surfaces. To accompany all the ideas generated in the Engineering and Ideation Rooms, the MakerSpace is a more traditional workshop with drills, saws, routers, and hand tools that support physical production. Materials and supplies are scaffolded so everything is visible and available to students.
