H.H. Bennett Studio & History Center

Wisconsin Dells, WI

This 6,000 square foot exhibit space tells the H.H. Bennett story. It is the story of a man who built his own cameras and took remarkable photos of rugged river life at the turn of the 20th
century in Wisconsin.

Using original furnishings and artifacts, the studio was restored to its 1908 appearance, showcasing operating darkrooms, exhibit galleries, and copies of the most famous photographs.

This restoration project was sponsored by the State of Wisconsin Historical Society.

Completed in 2000.
